Andrew Laine is a Professor in the Design & Technology area in the Department of Theater at Temple University. Serving as Technical Director for the Department of Theater from 2006 to 2015, he built over fifty mainstage productions, and designed scenery for two. One of the productions he designed, In Conflict, a world-premiere adapted and directed by Doug Wager, was produced at the Barrow Street Theater in NYC, The Long Wharf Theater in New Haven CT, the KCACTF Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Previously, Andrew taught theater design and production while serving as the resident designer and technical director at Abington Friends School in Jenkintown, PA. He has worked across the country as a scene designer, scenic carpenter, stagehand, rigger and technical director. He is an active member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology.  He has worked with a variety of companies, including Austin Musical Theatre, Ariel Dance Theatre, Fabulous and Ridiculous Theatre Company, Sharir + Bustamante Dance Works, among others.  Currently, Andrew serves as Resident Scene Designer for Philadelphia’s Mauckingbird Theater Company.
