Biography

Eugene Haynes has experience as a film producer, film festival arts administrator, and a film acquisitions/distribution executive, marketing specialist, and public speaker.

Early in his career, he was an associate producer for the nationally syndicated TV show "Entertainment Tonight" in New York City. As the Director of Production and Acquisition at USA Films (Focus Features) he evaluated script packages and completed films for acquisitions.  His film credits with USA Films include "Girls Town" directed by Jim McKay, "The Addiction" directed by Abel Ferrara, "Trippin" directed by David Raynr and "Boricua’s Bond" directed by Val Lik. He also served as the Executive Producer on "The Adventures of Teddy P. Brains" an award winning feature length animation film for children. As a festival arts administrator, Eugene has experience as the Artistic Director for the Jamerican International Film and Music Festival held in Montego Bay, Jamaica WI and is currently a program specialist for the BlackStar Film Festival.

 He is currently co-producing “Trichinosis” a horror podcast based on the Terror Film Festival award winning best screenplay.

In addition to teaching Race and Ethnicity in American Cinema at Temple University, Eugene has lectured on topics of Film Producing and Distribution, Black Cinema and Media Literacy at The New School and Swarthmore College.
