Biography

Jen Schneider is a cinematographer and writer-director based in Philadelphia. Her visual work has screened at such venues as Cannes, Sundance, and Poland's prestigious cinematography festival, Cameraimage. A longtime member of the ICG Local 600, she was honored in 2017 with their “Emerging Cinematographer Award” for her work on Maggie Mahrt's short film UNBOUND. As a writer-director, Jen fellowed at the 2018 Points North Forum and her work was selected for the 2019 Hot Docs Forum. In 2020, her work as both a writer-director and the Director of Photography were featured in a documentary for the PBS science program NOVA titled, “Can We Cool The Planet?” Most recently, Jen shot the IMDb original docu-series BUG OUT about the underground world of exotic bug collecting. She is a member of the Writers Guild of America, the International Camera Guild Local 600, and the International Collective of Female Cinematographers.
