Kunal Nayyar ('06) attended the University of Portland, initially focusing on business while also taking acting classes. Later, he pursued a Masters in Fine Arts from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Best known for his role as Raj Koothrappali on The Big Bang Theory, Nayyar has also made appearances on shows like NCIS, Sullivan & Son, and The Mindy Project. He's starred in films like The Scribbler and Dr. Cabbie and lent his voice to animated movies such as Ice Age: Continental Drift, Trolls, and Cars 3. Additionally, his voice acting credits include characters in Sanjay and Craig and Fantasy Hospital.

Nayyar has a successful theater background as well, having performed in productions like Huck and Holden at the Dahlia Theater in Los Angeles and Love's Labour's Lost at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. He also acted in the off-Broadway play The Spoils alongside Jesse Eisenberg, which later moved to London's West End.

In 2015, he authored "Yes, My Accent is Real," an autobiography chronicling his journey from growing up in India to moving to America and finding success in the entertainment industry.
