Biography

Micah Magee is a writer/director of narrative feature films. Her first feature, PETTING ZOO, premiered at the Berlinale and picked up directing, acting, writing, audience, critics and ‘best film’ awards at international festivals before theatrically released across Europe in collaboration with boutique sales agent The Match Factory and being exhibited on Netflix in the U.S. Her narrative short COMING HOME received the German Academy Award. Micah also develops and produces groundbreaking work by exceptional colleagues through Berlin production company / directors’ co-op Makrorama, which she co-founded in 2009. Most recently, narrative feature DEATH ON THE STREETS, co-written and produced by Magee, premiered at IFFR in 2021. Micah's teaching engagements have included Temple, Harvard, the European Film College in Denmark, the Swedish Art Academy in Umeå, and the DFFB in Berlin.
