Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Temple owl and Philadelphia native, won big last night at the Golden Globe Awards! She took home her first Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, celebrating her work on the film THE HOLDOVERS. When accepting the award, the actress said that her character, Mary, "changed her life." You can watch her entire acceptance speech here!
She previously spoke to The Inquirer about Mary, saying, "I just love the fullness of her [Mary’s] personality, and this idea that broken people are able to come together to fill a void and in the process somehow become more whole." You can read their Golden Globes followup article here.
Da'Vine received her BA in Vocal Performance before going to the Yale School of Drama. 6ABC Philadelphia reported that Da'Vine is also favored to win an Oscar for the role, and will be broadcasting the ceremony in February. You can catch their coverage here.
