The Department of Film and Media Arts' undergraduate programs are focused on educating students in the development of their creative and technical skills in film, video, audio, and new media, as well as in the theoretical understanding of film and culture.

Students learn to conceptualize and craft creative work, informed by scholarship, research and personal vision.

Tiered programs offer options for students to pursue a degree in Film and Media Arts to their level of interest. 

The department brings in guest media makers and visiting professors from diverse backgrounds for special lectures and workshops and students may select elective courses from other departments in such areas as theater, dance or music.

FMA BFA Program

All first year and sophomore FMA students begin as part of the Film and Media Arts BA Program. They can apply to become part of the BFA program beginning in their Junior year. More info about the BFA program below:
